CLEAN IT UP!

Okay that’s just nasty,
I walk on the sidewalk and some old gum is on the soul of my nikes.
Are you kidding me?
Really? wrappers and empty beer bottles in on the grass,
Why do this to our own land.
We have to live here and so does the rest of the city population,
Do you expect your mother to pick this up?
We are not pigs and we shouldn’t have to live In our own filth,
Disrespecting the grounds we walk on.
Would it really kill you to put that in a trash can,
The ground is not our city dumpster.
It looks terrible,
Why can’t I walk clean streets and breath fresh air?
The stench is so powerful it makes me angry,
Kids can’t even play In clean parks.
It’s time to get it together,
Clean this up.

  1. You’re absolutely right in this poem. I think that the problem lies in the fact that people know littering is wrong and harmful yet they keep on doing it. God knows why, but they do. I for one would really like to see a cleaner world.
